Black Ops has been known to have some of the best Zombies modes, thanks to its highly entertaining maps. The sixth iteration will continue this tradition with an all-new undead challenge. Here's what you can expect in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Zombies mode. What to expect in Black Ops 6 Zombies Get ready to relive the nostalgia as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 brings back the classic round-based Zombies mode, a feature that was dearly missed in the latest MW3 Zombies. Prepare to face endless hordes of zombies as each round escalates the challenge with more formidable foes. The Call of Duty Blog has given us the inside scoop into multiple features, and we're here to break them all down. New Maps Image via Activision Terminus and Liberty Falls are the two new round-based Zombies maps. Terminus Island takes players to the Philippine Sea, where a U.S. Naval base has taken over. Here, you'll get to choose between various Operators, including Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Mackenzie 'Mac' Carver, and Maya Aguinaldo The Black Ops 6 Zombies Terminus Reveal trailer unveiled a few POIs on this map, starting with an outbreak at a prison. Then, it carries on with a water-based environment, where Operators will need to survive on a boat. Although this trailer didn't involve the Liberty Falls map, more details on the second location will be revealed during the Call of Duty Next event. According to the Call of Duty Blog, Liberty Falls is a town in West Virginia filled with endless amounts of zombies. It looks like a much brighter map in comparison to Terminus. But even with all that light, it will undoubtedly be difficult to keep track of the numerous undead hordes. There will also be new Easter Eggs to discover, just like any other Zombies entry would. Typically, players were left in the dark when it came to finding these hidden secrets. However, the in-season promises to bring a unique guided mode to pinpoint them easily. The more you progress further in Zombies mode, the more you can collect the two currencies: Essence and Salvage. The former has been a part of most iterations, allowing you to unlock doors, weapons, and upgrades. Salvages will appear as piles of junk from fallen enemies, which will then provide access to Ammo Mods, higher rarities, and building materials. Elements like Perks, Field Upgrades, and Ammo Mods can be significantly enhanced with Augments. Each item offers six Augments to unlock, boosting its performance through research objectives. The GobbleGums will also make their epic return, which is currently available for purchase in the Vault Edition. These unique abilities, such as the Burned Out GobbleGum that makes zombies burst into fire, were a hit in Black Ops 3. The Mutant Injection support ability gives you the power of the elite Mangler. Though it's only temporary, you'll have enough time to deal a hefty amount of damage to nearby foes. The Melee Macchiato is the other new item for Zombies, sending zombies flying with one punch. Use an Augment with this perk to gain instant reloads from Hidden Impact and healing abilities from Vampirism. If you want a glimpse into Zombies' HUD, the Call of Duty Blog has provided a snippet. The Default version is slightly different from traditional layouts, as it doesn't feature the current rounds. Fortunately, those who prefer Black Ops 3's HUD can try out the Legacy version to bring this back and remove the minimap. Image via Activision Similar to MW3 Zombies, you can Exfil out the mode once it's time to go home. This tactic will be perfect for the higher rounds when it almost seems impossible to push through. Black Ops 6 timeline The Black Ops 6 storyline is set more than five years after Black Ops Cold War. Before this, the main playable crew was imprisoned under the orders of Edward Richtofen. Now, the team plots to escape and seek revenge on the notorious doctor in BO6. The post Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies mode, explained appeared first on Destructoid.
