The second premium expansion for Risk of Rain 2 launches on August 27, and that's also when we can expect the console upgrades. Gearbox Publishing and Hopoo Games locked in that very same date for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, which come with new platform-specific features. Among those features are split-screen couch co-op, as well as options for 1440p/1080p resolutions at 60 frames per second and 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. Those who pick up the PS5 version can also look forward to the usual audio-visual bells and whistles courtesy of the DualSense controller. If you already have the PS4 and/or Xbox One versions of Risk of Rain 2, the current-gen versions will be available as a free upgrade.
