Unlocking different abilities with the help of XP helps determine a coach's archetype. The coach archetype, in turn, decides how he manages different aspects of the school's program. While every ability has certain uses, some of them are outright better than the rest. The additional scouting hours are extremely helpful when it comes to drafting prospects. Similarly, the Star Maker ability is great to develop your athletes quicker in College Football 25.
